Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra
Mission Statement
The Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra has presented professional quality classical music concerts in the northern suburbs of Chicago for more than 45 years. The goals of the musicians and the Skokie Valley Orchestral Association are:
- Expose new generations to the joys of fine classical music
- Maintain a low ticket price to allow all in the community to hear a full symphony orchestra perform in a large acoustically excellent venue
- Provide an opportunity for young talented musicians to perform in front of a full symphony orchestra through an annual youth competition
- Create a place where both younger and older nonprofessional musicians can rehearse and perform with seasoned professionals under the direction of a professional conductor
- Offer traditional, contemporary, operatic, and popular musical selections to advance musical knowledge and appreciation
In a world of commercialism and disorder, the Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra offers a haven for the ears, the heart, and the soul!
