Bring your music and art students to be part of the excitement! 

Newly appointed Skokie Musical Director Dr. Robert G. Hasty conductor, and seventeen year old first prizewinner of the Bonnie & Lee Malmed Young Artists Competition winner, violinist Maya Anjali Buchanan will join the Skokie Valley Symphony to present a concert you and your students will never forget.

Suitable for students from grades 3 through 5.  Home Schoolers are Welcome.

The program features composers Mendelssohn, Korngold, Bartók, and Dvořák. Your students will listen as Conductor Robert Hasty leads the orchestra in music for folk dance. In addition, 2017 Young Artist Competition Winner Maya Anjali Buchanan, will play the first movement of Erick Korngold’s magical violin concerto. They will hear just how important classical music is to the world of movies.  Korngold was a major contributor to movie soundtracks as well as concert music and seventeen year old Maya is just the person to bring out the drama of the piece . Prepare to be inspired!
