Welcome to Skokie Valley Symphony's 47th Season

Take your seat as we journey back to the 18th and 19th centuries— the classical and romantic eras of music, but a time of amazing change here in the United States and around the world. Listen to a concerto composed by Bach during America’s Colonial days. Enjoy the comfort of familiar tunes by Haydn and Mozart, penned while America was fighting for independence and writing our Constitution and Bill of Rights, and while the French Revolution was being waged. Sway to the music of Beethoven, who created beautiful music, even as Napoleon’s armies marched through Italy and Spain. Relish the romantic strains of Saint Saens and Glazunov, who wrote their lush music as America was struggling to rebuild after its Civil War. Our journey through history will end with an operatic smorgasbord of stories and scenes, selected for your visual and auditory enjoyment. So, please take a seat and enjoy the Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra’s 47th season—a season of history and hummable tunes.
