Welcome to Skokie Valley Symphony's 48th Season
For our 48th season, Skokie Valley Symphony Orchestra brings you sweet Sunday Treats that will make you hunger for more. We invite you to join us as we present beautiful music chock-full of the sweet things you remember from years gone by. Led by the always-entertaining Maestro Francesco Milioto, the season features music that you know and love. Our first treat is an October concert of American music - All That Jazz and more - by Copland, Bernstein, Gershwin, and Barber. Our next treat (in December features the winners of our 29th Young Artist Competition as well as Britten's Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra - a perfect concert for you to bring your children and grandchildren. In March, we will treat you to two of the best-loved pieces of symphonic music ever composed - Vivaldi's Four Seasons featuring violinist Yuan-Qing Yu, assistant concertmaster of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, and Brahms's Symphony No. 2. Our final treat transports you to Paris in the Spring with music by Ravel, Debussey, Saint-Saens, and Chabrier, and features internationally recognized pianist Matan Porat. As a special gift to you, each subscription will come with a coupon that can be exchanged for a free ticket to one of our concerts. This way, you can share a sweet Sunday Treat with a friend. Subscribe by July 1, 2009, for the Early Bird price and guarantee your seat for this delicious season of musical treats. |
